Sarnath

Sarnath is located 10km northeast of Varanasi. According to Buddhist tradition, Sarnath is where Gautam Buddha taught his first sermon after attaining enlightenment at Bodh Gaya. And so, is an important place for Buddhists all over the world.

The ruins are well-maintained and the exhibition centre has a lot of interesting artifacts & information. It is very serene and has a positive feel.
