Matharpacady

Matharpacady is an old "village" in Mazgaon area of Mumbai, dating back to Portuguese times and was predominantly populated by East Indians.

This village has a lot of history to speak about and during the early '70s was a happening place for rock musicians and other such fine arts.

The whole area has still managed to retain its identity inspite of the tremendous onslaught of "progress" in that neighbourhood.

The many narrow lanes housing old Portuguese styles homes complete with colourful facades and wooden staircases, give this place its character.
